| Short description |
"Three Questions" is a short story by Leo Tolstoy. It tells the tale of a king who believes that if he knew the answers to three questions, he could never fail. These questions are:
What is the right time to begin something?
Which people should he listen to?
What is the most important thing for him to do?
The king seeks answers from wise men, but all their answers are different and unsatisfactory. Finally, he seeks the advice of a hermit who lives in the woods. The hermit, through his actions and teachings, indirectly answers the king's questions. The story emphasizes the importance of the present moment, the value of human life, and the need to focus on the task at hand.
